Alpha-Arbutin is a sensitive skin-friendly skin brightener.  The ingredient is known to reduce tyrosinase activity, which reduces the formation of melanin in your skin. Reduced tyrosine and melanin levels decrease pigmentation and dark patches and ensure a more even appearance without lightening or changing your overall skin tone. While Alpha-arputbin is a derivative of hydroquinone, it does not convert to hydroquinone on the skin. Alpha-Arbutin needs an alkaline environment to convert to hydroquinone and skin is naturally acidic.
